Here is a good site about to the raku process. Check it out. There is a list of frequenly asked questions that may be helpful for you as begin to explore the process. We can fire the raku kiln anyday (weather permiting) that you want, just please make sure that your pieces are glazed ahead of time so that you are ready to go at the start of class. Everyone of you must raku at least one piece at sometime during the first semester.

ReplyDeletewoohoo raku!! I'm excited to incorporate this into my concentration. maybe I could raku all of my pieces... I'm not entirely sure how I want my pieces to be glazed, but I do know that I want them all to look really similar in the glaze. Raku might be a good option for that thread of similar glazes.
ReplyDeleteI love raku, the pieces always look sick, and we actually have pretty good glazes for it.
