Time to Begin Uploading

Alright here we go. I would like everyone to have a minimum of 4 images uploaded to your AP account by next Wednesday (this will be worth a grade). You can upload either Concentration or Breath pieces, but not Quality. Pictures must be fully edited and of GREAT quality!!!

The following codes will be needed in order to begin the uploading process:

Wednesday will be another day to strengthen your Breath section of your portfolio. We will be using black wire to create a sculpture. Try doing an image search for wire sculpture ". You will likely become inspired by what you find.

A few Things

Just a reminder for those of you who forgot to Blog last week. Please let me know how many Breath and Concentration pieces completed at this point. Take a look at this link to see how one artist is using tape sculpture in a creative way. If you were not satisfied with how your tape sculpture the first time around consider trying it again. They will really strengthen yourportfolio. Just let me know if you need tape.

Portfolio Update

For this week’s blog I would like for you to take inventory on your pieces that you have COMPLETED for both your Breath and Concentration. Please report this to me in your post. Remember you may begin submitting on May 7th and it closes on the 11th.

East Creek Woodfire

Although the date has not been officially set, it is likely to be sometime in mid April. This is good news as it will allow those of you who want to include pieces from this firing into your AP portfolio. Now is the time to begin construction of pieces made out of cone 10 clay. G-Mix, in the form that we currently have, will NOT work. Umpqua is by far the best option for a clay body since it is made with Helmer kaolin which creates wonderful effects in the reduction environment.

Photo Update

All photos on the camera as of 2/15/12 have been uploaded. Please look through the "2011-12 AP 3D upload" file and move your photos into your student file ASAP. If there are images of your artwork in this file that you do not want, please delete them. The file is becoming cluttered and will become more difficult to work with if we do not stay on top of it.

Empty Bowls Next Tuesday

Mark your calendar. We will be hosting this event here in the cafeteria from 4-7pm. Your help is needed. Please plan on being here. Set up will begin at 3 and we will be out of here no later than 7:20. Jobs will include serving soup, collecting money, clearing tables, serving soup, ect. It will be fun. Spread the word.
